In the surroundings of Bezenye (population: 1,650) € 470 million are expected to be invested in the casino complex, and € 228 million in the adjacent Experience City. The necessary real-estate – more than 330 hectares – has been purchased bit by bit from the town’s inhabitants over recent years, mostly at ten times the going rate. According to media reports this was mostly poor quality land ill-suited for farming. “Bezenye is Hungary’s happiest place at present”, wrote the Internet (more…)
