Wynn Encore opening

At 8 p.m. this evening, Steve Wynn unveils Encore, the new signature resort in the Wynn collection. Located next door to flagship property Wynn Las Vegas, Encore is a distinct destination with its own selection of accommodations, dining and leisure activities. Central to Encore’s fanciful and intimate environments are sunlit corridors with flowering atria and sprawling pools visible from throughout the property. Natural light floods the resort to reveal gardens, vibrant butterflies and signature mosaics.

Encore’s accommodations are comprised of 2,034 spacious suites that offer casual elegance in a comfortable, residential setting. The Resort Suites span up to 700 square feet and Tower Suites measure up to 5,800 square feet. Las Vegas | Wynn’s announces next Las Vegas hotel

I think everyone can agree that having a golf course on 100+ acres of Las Vegas Strip land that is worth probably $20-$30 million per acre is not the best use of the land.  Steve Wynn has always said he would do something with this land after Encore opens up, and on his earnings conference call on Thursday he finally gave some details about his plans for the 18 hole golf course.

Manila Bay | Wynn comments on Manila Bay casino

A few days ago I mentioned that Wynn’s largest non-Steve shareholder, Aruze, had made a statement in a press release that Wynn may be somehow involved in its Okada Resort Manila Bay casino project.  Well, during Wynn’s earnings conference call on Thursday one astute analyst asked him about the announcement and Wynn replied, “…we are not investing at the present time or contemplating an investment in the Philippines.  We (more…)

Philippines | WYNN may manage Aruze’s $2.5 billion Manila Bay casino

Quite frankly, I’m shocked that this announcement hasnt made noise yet. I think this is really big news, so heres the scoop…

The Philippines has talked for years about creating “Pagcor City”, a massive casino and entainment district in Manila Bay that could rival the Cotai Strip with the hope of stealing a piece of the gaming pie from Macao. Earlier this month there was a flurry of announcements and news items saying that the Philippines government finally gave the green light for the complex (now called Manila Bay Tourism City). From everything Ive read it sounds like all systems are go.
