DUBAILAND™ is a member of Tatweer and the world’s most ambitious tourism, leisure and entertainment project, designed to catalyze the position of Dubai as an international hub of family tourism. The project is expected to be a full featured city divided into seven theme worlds.

The short range goal of the Dubailand is to attract 15 million tourists to Dubai by 2010. Developers expect to accomplish this goal by creating a tourism, entertainment, and leisure destination that will attract visitors not only from surrounding countries but also from Europe and Asia. The venture is expected to attract approximately 200,000 visitors daily and cost $20 billion.

Dubailand has a total of 45 diverse mega projects and 200 subprojects spread across will a 3 billion square foot (278 km²/107 mile²) site, and will include theme parks, eco-tourism projects, shopping malls, restaurants and residential units. To put the size into perspective, it will be twice the size of DisneyWorld in Orlando, Florida. There will be a minimum of 55 hotels within its geographical location projects a population of 2.5 million people, which includes tourists, workers and residents, once fully operational.

Projects currently operational include: Autodrome, Polo & Equestrian Club and Al Sahra Desert Resort. Completion of the final phase is targeted for some time between 2015 and 2018. Dubailand is seen by its designers as a city and therefore like a city they expect it to continue to grow and develop beyond the four phase plan.
